Marshfield, Ind - David E. Kiser, 83 of Warren County died at 10:30 pm. Monday Oct 13, 1969 at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Hazel Madison of Covington Rt 2. Mr. Kiser was born Aug 11, 1886 at Marshfield, a son of Marion and Mary Susan VanPelt Kiser. He married Stella Mae Ricketts who preceded him in death Nov 7, 1959. A life resident of Warren County, Mr. Kiser was a retired farmer. He was a Kent Twp Trustee 16 years and member of the Galloway Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Leona Tabor of Westville, Ill; Mrs. Helen Weddle of Williamsport Rt 2, Mrs. Hazel Madison and Mrs. Cora Keller both of Covington Rt 2; one brother, Frank of Williamsport Rt 2; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Burial in West Lebanon Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p,m. today at the funeral home.


Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Covington - David E. Kiser, age 83, a life-resident of Warren County and former trustee of Kent Township, died suddenly at 10:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Hazel) Madison, Covington Rt. 2. Although Mr. Kiser had been in ill health for some time death was unexpected now. Mr. Kiser was born in Marshfield, Warren County, Aug. 11, 1886, the son of Marion and Mary Susan VanPelt Kiser. He was married to Stella Mae Ricketts, who preceded him in death Nov. 7, 1959. He had been a farmer all of his life and he had served 16 years as trustee of Kent Township, Warren County. He was a member of the Galloway Chapel United Methodist Church. The body is at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington where friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Grover Williams will officiate and burial will be in the West Lebanon Cemetery.  -- typed by Barbara B
